The project construction commenced in 1961 and the project was commissioned and dedicated to the Nation in May 1975. The Farakka Barrage Project was designed to serve the need of preservation and maintenance of the Kolkata Port by improving the regime and navigability of the Bhagirathi-Hoogly river system.

Roles and Responsibilities
To teach students of Higher Secondary Cl،es of FBPHS Sc،ol. Evaluation of answer scripts and invigilation duty.
Eligibility Criteria
(A) EDUCATIONAL
- Master Degree with 50% marks from a recognized University in the relevant subject i.e. Political Science.
- Bachelor of Education from a recognized University or Ins،ute and
- Studied Bengali as a subject up to 10th standard.
(B) AGE
Not exceeding 33 years for Other Backward Cl،es candidates as on normal closing date in respect for vacancies reserved for them. Relaxable for regularly appointed Central/U.T. Government Servant up to Five Years as per instructions/orders issued by Govt. of India time to time. Pay Scale
Level–08 of pay matrix (Rs.47,600-1,51,100), Pay Band- 02, Rs, 9,300-34,800 (Pre Revised).
