“Judge in sprawling hair relaxer case limits fees for lead lawyers”: Alison Frankel’s “On the Case” from Reuters has this post.

Therein, Frankel writes that “the judge balked at lead counsel’s request that she order other plaintiffs lawyers to pay common benefit fees from settlements they reach outside of the MDL. Rowland concluded that she does not have aut،rity over cases that are litigated in state court or over ،ential cases that settle before a formal complaint is filed.”
