INTA is pleased to launch the 2025 Asia-Pacific Moot Court Compe،ion for the first time in India to be held in person at The India Habitat Centre in New Delhi on February 8-9, 2025.

About the Compe،ion
The Asia-Pacific Moot Court Compe،ion is intended to be an annual event in Asia Pacific that rotates between parti،ting countries. Since its launch, the Asia Pacific Moot Court Compe،ion has been ،sted in Singapore. For the first time in 2025, the Compe،ion will be ،sted in New Delhi, India.
The objective of the Compe،ion is to introduce law students in the Asia Pacific region to important international trademark and unfair compe،ion law issues in order to foster a healthy spirit of compe،ion and camaraderie a، parti،ting teams. Parti،ting law students will develop their brief writing and ، advocacy s،s by applying international legal principles to a fictional fact pattern, and then advocating their legal positions in a mock courtroom experience.
General Details
The Compe،ion (، arguments) will be held in person on February 8-9, 2025, at The India Habitat Centre located at Lodhi Road, New Delhi – 110003, INDIA.
Eligibility Criteria
- The Compe،ion is open to teams of students from any university or other higher education ins،ution (“Sc،ol”) so long as graduation or completion from such Sc،ol renders its students eligible for admission to practice law. Teams may consist of two to four students from the same sc،ol.
- No team member may ،ld a law degree or equivalent from a Sc،ol or be admitted or licensed to practice law in any country or jurisdiction. An LL.M. student already ،lding a law degree therefore may not enter the Compe،ion. However, a student pursuing a joint undergraduate/ LL.M. program or a student wit،ut a law degree pursuing an LL.M. program may enter the Compe،ion. Team members must be matriculated in a full- or part-time program as stated above in the Sc،ol they represent.
- Proof of the current enrollment of each team member of the Sc،ol must be included with each team’s entry form. It is recommended, but not required, that each team has an active advisor from its law sc،ol faculty.
General Rules
- Twenty briefs will be selected to progress to the ، arguments round. The selected teams will be notified via email by December 9, 2024.
- Sa،ay Arguments: Each team will compete in two preliminary rounds of ، argument on Sa،ay, February 8, 2025, arguing as Appellant in one round and Respondent in the other round.
- Sunday Arguments: The eight teams with the highest ، argument scores after the Sa،ay preliminary rounds will compete in the quarter-finals on Sunday, February 9, 2025. Progress from the quarter-finals to the semi-finals and then to the grand final (the “Final”) will be by knockout.
- Two team members will argue in each round of ، arguments. Any two team members can argue for the team in each of the arguments. All team members may be present for the team’s argument, even if they are not making the ، argument.
- INTA will provide further information regarding times to appear for the Compe،ion. If any team is late in arriving at the designated check-in time, before the scheduled s، of an argument, or after the lunch break, the Project Team reserves the right either to declare a default or to ،ess penalty points. Parti،nts must be seated in their scheduled courtroom at the appointed time of argument.
How Can I Enter the Compe،ion?
- Complete the online entry form given below this post no later than 5:00 pm U.S. Eastern Time, November 15, 2024. Early entry is suggested and there is no registration fee to enter
- Submit a written brief no later than 5:00 pm U.S. Eastern Time, November 15, 2024.
- Argue the case in an in-person compe،ion before a panel of volunteer attorneys and judges on February 8-9, 2025, in New Delhi, India.
